Oven Crispy Chicken Wings

I have a fantastic recipe to share with you! I hope it makes your Monday a little brighter. Getting back to work and school is hard, especially after an awesome weekend.

We went on a mini-trip to Hershey last weekend. Our son ran in the PIAA Cross Country State Championships. We were all so excited for him! He did great and placed in the top third of all the runners. We hope to be back next year! We all had a great time cheering him on. We also made a visit to Chocolate World before we headed back home. Fun Family Times!

I made these chicken wings for dinner the night before we left. They were so easy to make and didn't leave too much of a mess behind to clean up.
Our son is in there somewhere!

Ingredients
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons smoked paprika (or plain paprika)
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
18-20 fresh chicken wings, tips removed
cooking spray
favorite wing sauce or BBQ sauce, if desired
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Prepare two baking sheets by covering each with a sheet of foil. Then, generously spray foil with cooking spray.
2. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and cayenne pepper in a gallon sized ziploc bag. Shake to mix ingredients well.
3. Add half of the chicken wings and shake to coat. Place wings on one of the prepared baking sheets.
4. Place the rest of the chicken wings in the bag and shake well to coat. Place on the second baking sheet.
5. Bake for about 30 minutes.
6. Turn wings over and bake about another 15 minutes or until crispy and done.
7. If desired, add wings to a large bowl and mix with your favorite sauce or just brush sauce on separate pieces.

Notes: These are good as is, but you can also toss them in your favorite sauce.
These wings make a yummy dinner with sides or serve them with celery and carrot sticks as appetizers.

For easier clean up, I line the baking sheets with foil and generously spray the foil with cooking spray.
I used kitchen shears to cut off the wing tips.
The wings get coated in the flour/seasoning mix in a ziploc bag. Shake off excess flour mixture before placing on baking sheet.

The Results...
Oven Crispy Chicken Wings turn out crispy and delicious! I've made this recipe a couple of times now and my whole family likes them, even my 4 yr. old will gobble these up. She likes her wings without any sauce. My husband on the other hand likes a spicy BBQ sauce on his wings. These wings are good either way. I add a salad and a side dish and dinner is ready.

This is the best and crispiest way that I have made wings in the oven. I've made wings using a fryer, but I like this way better and I think it's just as tasty. This is a new family favorite for sure! Enjoy.
